Should Journalists Be Required to Add Value to News Organizations?

Jeff Jarvis at BuzzMachine is continuing his campaign to convince journalists and news organizations to become more efficient, if they expect to survive in the current economic climate. See “Journalists: Where do you add value?” On April 24, 2009, Jarvis declared:

Every day, with everything they do, the key question for journalists and news organizations in these tight - that is, more efficient - times must be: Are you adding value? And if you’re not, why are you doing whatever you’re doing?”
The questions provoked responses from journalists and bloggers in Europe and the United States.
