Chicago Tribune Considers Bankruptcy

I thought the Chicago Sun-Times, one of my two daily newspapers, would have announced that it was considering filing for bankruptcy before the larger Chicago Tribune

I was wrong. According to reporters Phil Rosenthal and Michael Oneal of the Tribune, "Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co. is working with bankruptcy advisers at investment bank Lazard and law firm Sidley Austin to weigh its financial options, sources said Sunday," December 7, 2008. See "Tribune Co. hires bankruptcy advisers."

I read both papers but subscribe to the Tribune.
