Southeast Asian Press Alliance Opposes Legal Action Against Bloggers

Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA) said in a January 19, 2007, press release that "SEAPA views with grave concern" a landmark lawsuit filed in Malaysia on January 4. 2007 "by a major news group and its top executives against two bloggers for 'defamation' and 'malicious falsehoods'".

The bloggers are Screenshots'  Jeff Ooi  and Ahirudin (bin) Atan who writes at Rocky’s Bru.  SEAPA notes that they were sued by "New Straits Times Press (NSTP), its Deputy Chairperson Kalimullah Hassan, Group Editor-in-Chief Hishamuddin Aun and former group editor Brenden Pereira."

SEAPA Executive Director Roby Alampay was quoted on January 19, 2007, as saying :

"We see this case as going beyond the interests of private entities. It will impact on Malaysians' access to diverse and independent news, commentary, and information, and will also adversely affect the Internet as a medium for free expression in a country where much of the mainstream press is owned and influenced by political parties and government itself."

Acconding my knowledges e.i. hepatitis is the one of most serious incurable disease, but all the press refuse to publish it. Because it seems to be impossible to disseminate the message, I have informed it in my webpages: www.livercure.org Please, let this message spred over the mankind. Millions of people will safe their life and will be spared from extra suffers.
