InfoWorld Interviews 'Jon Udell About His New Job With Microsoft'

InfoWorld has an informative post on journalist/author Jon Udell's decision to leave InfoWorld and become Microsoft's new technical evangelist. He succeeds Robert Scoble, who commented on the announcement  in "Jeff Sandquist scores one for Microsoft." Sandquist comments on the move in "Jon Udell is leaving InfoWorld and Joining My Team At Microsoft."

I think Sandquist has scored big in his continuing effort to put a human face on Microsoft. When he brought in Scoble a few years ago, it reaped great dividends in goodwill for Microsoft. He was able show that Microsoft had talented, concerned people who cared about what they did despite the company's image as as a ruthless corporate behemoth only concerned about raking in the green. Now, the ball is in Udell's court. He probably won't be as down to earth as Scoble, but I think he will do a good job in making Microsoft seem less remote.

By the way, I can't wait for Udell's first post on Who da'Punk--we call him Mini--, the anonymous Microsoft insider behind Mini-Microsoft, one of the most popular and controversial blogs critical of Microsoft's leadership.
