Mark Cuban's Assessment of ' Blogging vs Traditional Media'

I often visit Blog Maverick, "the Mark Cuban  weblog."  In case you don't keep up with basketball, Cuban is the  owner of the exciting Dallas Mavericks. They were boring before he bought the team on January 14, 2000 and changed its loser attitude.

Anyway, Cuban, whom I admire for his business acumen, willingness to challenge the business status quo and for his accessibly,  has a May 10, 2006 post that that gives his views on  the so-called blog v. media argument. His conclusion:

Bloggers drive blogs, share price drives traditional media.  Blogging is personal, traditional media is corporate.

Cuban gives several examples and  acknowledges that there are a few popular blogs owned by corporations. But they are in the minority, he noted. The majority of blogs are still personal.

To read his thesis, see " Blogging vs Traditional Media - This time its personal." Reader comments are also interesting.
