Is This Really Free Speech?

According to the February 16, 2006 edition of The Australian, "Cartoonist Michael Leunig had speculated that he was being set up by the dark forces of the conservative pro-war brigade when a cartoon he penned four years ago was submitted, without his knowledge, to an Iranian newspaper offering gold coins for cartoons on the Holocaust."

"Instead," The Australian reported, "the hoaxer yesterday turned out to be a homegrown rogue satirist - Richard Cooke, a part-time writer with The Chaser, the team behind ABC-TV's satirical programs CNNNN, The Chaser Decides and The War on Everything.

"Leunig said he had received an apology from the writer." For more, please see " Leunig's hoaxer gets chased down."
